19 wood sector companies from Latvia, Estonia and Finland participated in a study tour to China. During the trip companies participated in several B2B matchmaking events with Chinese companies, as well as visited different Chinese wood sector related companies and visited International Green Architecture and Construction Materials exhibition.

Experts from the EU-SME Center in China conducted the first training module in Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry premises. In the first part of the training, experts talked about the economy and specifics of the Chinese market, as well as the opportunities and challenges that Latvian entrepreneurs in the wood sector need to consider in order to successfully start exporting to China. The second part was devoted to legal issues, including contracting, intellectual property protection, partner verification and other details.

In the first part of the day project partners together with Central Baltic programme secretariat was discussing different project management topics and future plans. But in the evening project partners was hosting opening dinner together with local Latvian stakeholders and wood sector companies.
